Each UWC school and college has its own distinct character, shaped by its setting, country, cultural context and community. Some are surrounded by nature, while others are based in towns or cities. These environments help shape the student experience – whether through hands-on learning about sustainability in a rainforest or by exploring the history of a local area to understand better the challenges of building a more peaceful and just future.
At the same time, what makes each one a UWC is a diverse student body and a shared commitment to the UWC mission. Across the movement, students from all over the world and many different backgrounds come together to live, learn and grow – with and from each other – as they explore how to make a positive difference.
